Quick update
As of tomorrow, Anne will be one week overdue. Laura still has contractions occasionally, which are stronger than they used to be, but their frequency and duration are still pretty random. Her joints are getting increasingly sore, and she’s finding it more and more difficult to roll over at night or get a decent amount of sleep. We’ll be meeting with the doctor again tomorrow, and Laura is strongly considering asking him to induce labor. We’ll post another update tomorrow when we know for sure what’s happening, and if we schedule an induction, we’ll start making phone calls.
The Puget Sound area has had a blast of winter weather since Wednesday, bringing temperatures into the 20s and more snow than I remember for a northwest winter in a long time. There has probably been a total of 4-5″ or more of snowfall, though a few slightly warmer days melted some. The wind picked up last night and built a 10″ drift right outside my back door, and drifts up to 6″ deep on the front porch steps. I love snow; I love seeing the world covered in it, and the hush of a snowfall, when you can go for a walk in town and hear little more than your breath and the crunch beneath your feet. Sometimes I wish we had it more often, but its scarcity makes it all the more enjoyable.
