Weekly post #1
Well, we had an eventful week! It got off to a poor start, unfortunately. On Monday, Anne touched one of the grates of our in-wall heaters and burned her finger pretty badly. It blistered up, and we’ve been keeping it bandaged all week. It doesn’t seem to bother her much, fortunately, and it looks like it’s healing well. I started getting a nasty head cold on Wednesday, spent Thursday and Friday at home, and am finally feeling a little better today.
In better news, we’ve both been sticking to our Weight Watchers food plans. It’s been somewhat challenging for Laura now that I have so many more points per day than she does, but we’ve both lost some weight this week, and it feels good to be working on being healthier again. We’ve also stuck to our jogging training, and went out three times this week. Tomorrow, we start our second week of training and ratchet up the intensity a bit.
Some time ago, our record player started playing all of our records noticeably slower than it should, and even the pitch control knob wasn’t enough to bring it up to speed. A few days ago, I decided to try it again and noticed that it played 45s just fine. I located a repair manual for it on the Internet, made an adjustment to the 33 RPM speed through a semi-hidden adjustment screw, and now our turntable is back in action. It’s been fun listening to records again.
Tonight, Laura let Anne play with a ball of yarn, and I snapped a few photos while she was at it. They came out a bit blurry and noisy for the most part, but they’re cute, so I decided to put them up anyway.
