Hmmmm…. What should I do now?

Anne has officially figured out how to open cabinet doors. She has been having more fun then I would really like to admit. :) Part of me says, “I have GOT to get cabinet locks on these things.” And the other part of me says, “Okay, really…she can’t hurt anything. Nothing can really hurt her. Do I really care?”

After getting a bunch of Rice Krispies all over the floor, I am leaning toward the cabinet locks. But it was SO cute to watch her. And really, what is the worst that could happen? A box of cereal could end up on the floor. Although annoying, it would not be the end of the world.

As Nathan has mentioned, we are training for a 5K run. We started about a month or so ago. Training has been going well. This last run was pretty tough though. Seriously. We ran a 1/2 mile set and I thought I was going to die. Obviously, that was not the case. And what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right?

Well, I guess that is all the news really. Just more of the same. Anne has gotten a few more teeth. This time, it is the molars. She has also been having a lot of fun actually playing with Rufus lately. She will walk up to him and give him hugs. So cute!

WW Status – Week 5

Summary

Well, I blew it this week. I was counting points as I went Sunday and Monday, but by Tuesday morning, I still hadn’t written anything down and couldn’t remember everything I’d eaten the previous couple days. Instead of starting to count and track from that point forward, I let it go, trying to keep my portions and food choices reasonable, and doing a less than stellar job of both. I also succumbed to a sweet tooth several days in a row. All told, not a great week food-wise, but it could have been worse, and I’m getting right back at it this week. On the plus side, we did continue our jogging and that’s still going well. We’ll be increasing our jogging distance this week, starting today.

Just a quickie

I’m just gonna do a quickie post tonight. We went to Kayak Point Park yesterday, and had a great time walking on the beach with Anne, watching her explore and check out all the new textures. We shot over 200 photos, and of those, I picked about 40 that I’ve uploaded to a new set on Flickr.

I’m kicking off the week with kind of a rough start, health-wise, though. I start my new weeks for Weight Watchers on Sundays, and with the Super Bowl today (congratulations, Saints!), I didn’t even try tracking my points after breakfast. I’m assuming I mostly blew out my bonus points for this week already, but it was fun, and I’ll just get back on track for the rest of the week. Our jogging has been going well, though. We’re repeating last week’s training intensity this week, and then we’ll probably advance again next week.

I also decided to call my 365 self-portraits project quits. I don’t have enough time on weeknights to put the effort into it, and it’s been showing. I may switch to a once-a-week project instead, but I haven’t made up my mind. I managed to keep it up for about a month, which is more than I thought I’d be able to do at the outset, and I think I have a few decent shots in there. I wouldn’t mind trying it again one of these days when my schedule isn’t quite so tight.

Anne’s finger is finally healing up. The underside of it is looking pretty good now. The upper side still doesn’t look great, but at least it doesn’t seem to be bothering her. Her bandage fell off overnight last night and we left it off all day today, but she didn’t seem to mind a bit.
